“I HAVE A DREAM” is a construction of a despacho. A despacho is a traditional offering in the Andes created for Pacha Mama (Quechua for earth) and for the Apus (Quechua for mountain). In Cusco there are shops in the market where you can buy a despacho kit. Typically an Andean Priest is hired to create the offering for you. The offering is made in honor of the land for a good crop, birthdays, weddings, a new house, a new car, a new year, graduations, a passing of a loved one, etc. The coca kintu (leaves) works as a device to hold the prays for the intention of the offering. The pray is blown into the kintu and then placed into the despacho. Upon completion of the despacho, it is offered into a fire, occasionally a despacho can be buried in the ground.
