SLIDE PLAY is a body of work created from digital images of PARQUE URPICHA (little dove in Quechua) in Cusco, Peru. Mayor DANIEL ESTRADA PEREZ (1983-1989) built PARQUE URPICHA in the mid 80s after the 1986 earthquake. He was one of the first mayors to re-vitalize the identity of the city and its people by building a series of social structures for Cusquenians. He built such structure as Cusco’s main municipal theatre, green spaces, parks, gardens, sculptural monuments and PARQUE URPICHA for the children. I was inspired by the structures built for this amusement park, unlike manufactured amusement parks in the United States these constructions are built to specification making them uniquely one of a kind.
